Well-wishers partners with CBR to put smiles on the faces of PWDs
Persons with disability in the Ndop Urban and Kibomnie Associations of Persons with Disability (APWDs) in Ndop Ngukitunjia Division and Geptang village Bui Division in NWR respectively have received gifts made of cloths and savon from some well-wishers. The gifts were handed to the Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) services of the CBC Health Services to distribute to the groups
Handling the gifts to the groups in separate occasions, the Administrative Assistant of CBR Banso Kibong Evyline explained to the recipients that the well-wishers instructed that the cloths be given to women with disability who belongs to APWDs. She used the event to call on persons with disabilities to get registered in groups so that they will all have strong voices to advocate for their rights.
In the different groups Kibong Eyline commended the efforts of the members and leaders for working as a team to achieve their set objectives. She pledged the continues supports of CBR to the groups to facilitate their activities
The leadership as well as the members of the group applauded the CBR for improving on their quality of life in areas like education, social inclusion, livelihood and health.
After receiving her gift of a hand bag, Ndikaka Vendaline Nkwah could not hide her joy as she explained that she has struggled for some time now to acquire a hang bag but has not been able as a result of limited financial resources. Vendaline added that” this my bag I will keep it for use only during occasions when I will wear my Green kaba because I am a Baptist woman and this is a white bag which we wear with our green kaba”
On her part Ancela Kongla a woman with visual impairment said at a time like this when they cannot even afford food to eat talk less of buying dresses, a gift like cloths is timely and valuable .She said the dress she received has come to add the 2 dresses that she had which she could not wear to church or official occasions adding that with the dress given her, she can go to places and confidently associate with her peers.
Ndinyadung Issac the secretary of the Kibomnie group in Noni who is a person with physical disability showered blessing on the well-wishers noting that nothing is ever small to share with a human being. He said his heart is gladden that he could see women in his groups putting on broad smiles after receiving the gifts
Impressions gotten from the recipients tell of the facts that until people of the society share the little that they have with their fellow members of the community they will never know how needy people are in their little concerns.
